The Double-Edged Sword

One more week finished of gut-wrenching, cell-killing chemo. A mother wouldn’t purposely feed her child poison, it’s unthinkable! But here he is, submitting to liquid chemicals that burn veins, poison kidneys, kill hair follicles, and HOPEFULLY destroy cancer cells. All week I’ve thought about the medicine that he’s taking can either kill him or make him better. What a dichotomy. Or is it irony? Whatever you choose to call it, it’s brutal.

  1. I am not sure about that stuff to tell you the truth. Don’t know if I’d take it myself. Have seen too much of this. I am truly sorry you are going through this, and that Bobby is sick. I love you guys.

  2. Hi Jane, It’s not easy expressing in words the emotional and physical journey through cancer. I hugely appreciate your honesty and understand your experience. I hope this note finds your son responding well to treatment and getting rid of those cancer cells forever. Thanks to Joany for sharing your blog link on facebook. Love and prayers from Vancouver, BC.
